UNDERWOOD AMMO 10MM
UNDERWOOD AMMO 10MM is semi catridge created in 1983. Its design was adopted
and later produced by FFV Norma AB of Amotfors, Sweden.
Besides When FFV Norma AB designed the cartridge at the
behest of Dornaus & Dixon Enterprises, Inc.
for their Bren Ten pistol (a newly developed handgun with design inspired by the CZ 75),
the company decided to increase the power over Cooper’s original concept.
However The resulting 1omm ammo—which was introduced
in 1983 and produced since—is very powerful,
retaining the flat trajectory and high energy of a magnum revolver cartridge in a relatively short,
versatile rimless cartridge for a semi-automatic pistol.
Underwood Ammo 10mm rounds are notable for their power and accuracy.
However we utilize Fiocchi and Hornady terminal performance bullet which are which are designed
for deep terminal penetration great accuracy and control expansion.
Moreover we equally combined Hornady carefully formulated designed which result in one lethal round.
Why Is Underwood Ammo 10mm So Popular?
Underwood Ammo 10mm was Introduced in 1983 in the Bren Ten Pistol,
the underwood 10mm ammo was praised by none other than Colonel Jeff Cooper
as a superb defensive round. However, excitement about both the 10 mm and the Bren Ten
abated when several of these pistols shipped with inoperable magazines or no magazines at all.
Furthermore the 10 mm bounced back from those early woes and even began to gain the interest
of large government agencies like the FBI.
Following the infamous Miami shootout of 1986 that left two agents dead and five wounded,
the FBI elected to adopt a pistol with more punch than the 9 mm for their agents.
The Underwood Ammo 10 mm Auto became the front runner and,
in 1989, the marriage was made official.
Underwood Ammo 10mm is considered as one of the best ammo in Sweden.
However Bottom line is that with 10mm you can carry
more rounds than you would with a .
45 ACP, fewer rounds than you would with a 9mm,
and the same number of rounds as with a . 40 S&W.
But each round carries 50 percent more energy, increasing the possibility
that you will need fewer hits to stop an attacker.
What Is The Best Underwood Ammo 10mm?
Underwood Ammo 10mm When we are talking about the BEST Millimeter
of all the handgun cartridges in the 10mm Auto it is mandatory to discuss
STOPPING POW-AH! It is a running joke among TFB writers that the 10mm
is the “best millimeter” (ask ballistic gel expert Andrew from TFBTV what he thinks).
Maybe it is because the popularity of the Underwood Ammo 10mm ebbs and flows like an
ocean tide over the years.
Or because our older legion of shooters remember the origins of the cartridge
and how it used to be really powerful.
All of these things are partially, if not completely, true.
Modern ammunition, both hollow-points (HP) and full-metal jacket (FMJ),
are much more downgraded in their power factor compared to how the cartridge
was originally designed.
James Reeves alluded to this in our last TFB Round Table when he discussed
velocities, pressures, and Ft-Lbs of energy because they were trying to
overcompensate and create something truly powerful.
